The Iranian economy with a population of 75.33 Million (Est 2011 - amar.org.ir sourced from wiki) ranks 17th in the world with a GDP PPP of approximately 888 billion and GDP PPP per capita of 12,258 vs 48,147 (United States) according to the IMF in 2011. Its currency the Iranian Rial (IRR) and its fixed interest bank deposit products referred to as a term deposit/fixed deposit in english. According to CIA.gov its inflation was 22.5% in 2011 and 12.4% in 2010. Some liberalization of banking sector in the 1990s provides the country with a mix of commercial and specialized government owned banks, private banks and Investment banks.
